\"\" The Myth of the American Sleepover<\/a> is a great depiction of what life was like and what\u00a0was important to a kid growing up and moving on to high school. There were\u00a0many stories in the film that anyone of us could relate to.\u00a0The film\u00a0really spans the spectrum of the events\u00a0that define growing up.\u00a0Throughout the film we see\u00a0love lost and gained, friendships made and lost,\u00a0late night bike rides, toilet papering the neighborhood, egging houses, the\u00a0parties and all the while trying to find a real connection with the people around us. Its a film that reminds us of\u00a0 how fun it was just sneaking into a pool at night,\u00a0what a big deal our first kiss was, and how great it is to have real friends.<\/p>\n

In the film we fallow four young\u00a0teens while they spend there last night of summer before\u00a0starting\u00a0 high school. There commitment to there oldest friends, the\u00a0new\u00a0friends made, and the emotional \u00a0connections finally acknowledged.\u00a0The all first time cast had great screen presence, and the ability to carry out there roles.\u00a0When\u00a0watching the film you can see very\u00a0subtle moments when all the stories intertwine or pass right by one and other.\u00a0Its a great tactic to describe how little the world we thought was so big really is.\u00a0With most of the film having been filmed in the rain,\u00a0it gave a good sense of washing\u00a0away of the old and clearing the way for new\u00a0beginings\u00a0in there lives as young adults. I felt a great deal of connection with the stories told in this film. It did a good job of conecting\u00a0the heart and mind to\u00a0the pivotal moments\u00a0and\u00a0self descovery\u00a0that define growing up.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
