\"\"Jason Reitman has directed his third feature film titled Up in the Air<\/em><\/a>.\u00a0 <\/em>It stars George Clooney as Ryan Bingham, who’s a congenial corporate downsizing expert.\u00a0 Bingham loves what he does, which is to travel all over the country and fire employees.\u00a0 His only ambition in life\u00a0is to reach the ten million mark on his frequent flyer plan.<\/p>\n

Bingham is\u00a0a travel junkie, who\u00a0is\u00a0unattached, without\u00a0 home or family,\u00a0but\u00a0\u00a0is also a motivational speaker.\u00a0 His message is \u00a0to “travel light, lose excess baggage, and eliminate the burdens” in\u00a0one’s life.\u00a0 He actually believes his own BS until he falls hard over\u00a0a one-night stand with Alex Goran (Vera Farmiga) – his female counterpart.<\/p>\n

Along comes Natalie (Anna Kendrick) a young upstart, who has devised a way to streamline Bingham’s job – fire people through video conferencing and eliminate the travel expense, thus\u00a0leaving Bingham in jeopardy of losing his job.<\/p>\n

Although the trailers for this film\u00a0were a bit of an overkill – meaning every witty line was put into the trailer, so as you’re watching the film, the element of surprise in the dialogue is zip.\u00a0 Having zero interest in seeing the film, surprisingly it\u00a0was\u00a0\u00a0much better than\u00a0I\u00a0anticipated.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Despite the cheesy humor –\u00a0 the\u00a0flight attendant asks Bingham “do you want the\u00a0cancer?” several times while he’s daydreaming, when he snaps out of it, she’s\u00a0holding a soda can and asking “do you want the can sir?”\u00a0 \u00a0It is quirky,\u00a0well-acted, humorous at times and has a little twist at the end.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No surprise,\u00a0as Ryan Bingham, Clooney is basically\u00a0playing himself – which is a charming, but\u00a0devout bachelor.\u00a0\u00a0He’s\u00a0set in his ways, yet in the end has his entire world turned upside down.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
