{"id":8450,"date":"2010-02-22T23:48:38","date_gmt":"2010-02-23T07:48:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/g9r.3b8.myftpupload.com\/?p=8450"},"modified":"2010-02-23T07:02:42","modified_gmt":"2010-02-23T15:02:42","slug":"when-your-strangetom-dicillo-2009-usa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/g9r.3b8.myftpupload.com\/?p=8450","title":{"rendered":"When Your Strange (Tom Dicillo, 2009): USA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Reviewed by <a href=\"https:\/\/g9r.3b8.myftpupload.com\/?author=798\">Jacqueline Gomez<\/a> at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/g9r.3b8.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/jimmy.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8451\" src=\"https:\/\/g9r.3b8.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/jimmy.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"197\" height=\"147\" style=\"margin: 0px 10px 0px 0px; float: left\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The film \u201cWhen Your Strange\u201d, directed by Tom Dicillo, is a look inside the famous rock band, The Doors.\u00a0 Tom Dicillo has also directed television shows \u201cLaw and Order\u201c, and \u201cMonk\u201d.\u00a0 This film is a collection of all the never released behind the scene footage of The Doors.\u00a0 This film really shows it\u2019s audience the real person that Jim Morrison was, and shows the success and sometimes down falls of the famous rock band.<br \/>\nSince this is a documentary, not much acting was going on.\u00a0 A great part of the film is the Johnny Depp is the narrator.\u00a0 He does an excellent job telling the behind the scenes story of The Doors.<br \/>\nThe film did have a three play structure.\u00a0 There were not many twists and turns, the audience just gains so much knowledge about The Doors that true fans did not know of.<br \/>\nThe mise-en-scene was excellent.\u00a0 This documentary took chances, and was not afraid to go out of the box.\u00a0 The deep saturation and obscure angles definitely did the movie justice.<br \/>\nThe editing on this film was very quick paced.\u00a0 I think the quick editing made you feel in tune with the band\u2019s hectic lifestyle.<br \/>\nThe music score was all Doors music.\u00a0 Not only do they have excellent music, but each song portrayed exactly what topic was ever being discussed.<br \/>\nThis film was excellent.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reviewed by Jacqueline Gomez at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
